Vito Lampasona is a senior researcher at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute. He received his degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan, and performed is post-graduation training first at the Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Resesarch of Milan and then at the Immunogenetics Laboratory of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, USA.

He has been instrumental in the development of assays for the characterization of immune responses in in autoimmune diseases with a particular focus on those for autoantibodies associated with type 1 diabetes.

His current research activities are focused on development and validation of advanced assays for circulating biomarkers of autoimmunity and cancer.
