The Advanced Interfaculty Degree Course in Cognitive Neuroscience

The two-year Advanced Interfaculty Degree Course in Cognitive Neurosciences, coordinated by the Faculty of Psychology, originates from the idea that the study of the Mind and its connections with the Brain will be the one of the most exciting and promising area of investigation in the next millennium. Cognitive Sciences are typically an interdisciplinary area. Indeed, in order to study the mind and the brain it is necessary to know and utilize methods and discoveries derived from Neurosciences, Psychology, Linguistics, Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. Classification of this Course as an advanced degree course in Psychology highlights its central topics: Cognitive Neurosciences, Cognitive Psychology, Philosophy of Mind. Therefore, the degree in Cognitive Neuroscience offers the access to scientific careers in both basic and applied research. Moreover, students with a suited curriculum will have the opportunities to work in various area of Psychology: Neuropsychology, General and Experimental Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychophysiology, Cognitive Neurosciences, Science of Communication.

Most of the classes are in English. The Course is held at the Biotechnology Department of the San Raffaele Institute (DIBIT), and is open to a maximum of 30 students with heterogeneous background.
