International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine

The deadline for 2010 admissions has passed. We are no longer accepting applications. We will update the website in July 2010 with information regarding the 2011 application process.

The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has been selected in 2001 by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research as one of the academic institutions in the country in charge of developing innovative PhD Programs, based on a highly competitive and truly international research environment. This has been achieved through the creation of a network of qualified academic and industrial institutions, both in EU as well as in non-EU countries. Aim of this initiative is to help young graduate students, both from Italy and from other countries, develop their careers as independent investigators with a strong opportunity to face the various aspects and the international dimension of experimental research in biology and medicine. The broad scientific area covered by the this Program is Molecular Medicine. The Program is further subdivided into five independently managed thematic areas, each based on a separate teaching committee but conforming to the same general rules.

The thematic areas are named:

Basic and Applied Immunology
Neuroscience
Experimental Neurology
Preventive and Predictive Medicine
Cancer Biology and Biotherapy

In the academic year 2006-2007, 10 students were recruited in the Basic and Applied Immunology track as part of a EU-funded Marie Curie Program (INTEGRAMM), involving four academic Institutions and one SME from Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Please refer to the sections below to obtain more information on the individual research projects, the general guidelines of the Program and the application procedures to be followed to enter the Program.
