Activation of skeletal myogenesis in embryonic vascular progenitors
The project aims to identify molecules released by newly formed myotubes that recruit endothelial and perithelial progenitors to a skeletal myogenic fate. The project is based on an organ culture assay using genetically labeled embryonic dorsal aorta an primary myogenic cells and is amenable to manipulation by addition of growth factors/cytokines, neutralizing antibodies and RNA interference.
