A Little profile
Luca Bertoglio obtained a M.D. degree from Genoa University, followed by a residency in Vascular Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. Since 2008, he has held a consultant position at vascular surgery at the Division of Vascular Surgery of the San Raffaele Hospital and, since 2016, he has been responsible for the endovascular functional unit of the Division as senior consultant. He authored more than 130 “peer-reviewed” publications related to different clinical studies. In the last years, his clinical and research activity focused on the endovascular and open treatment of complex aortic pathology, and he is involved in different national and international studies regarding endovascular treatment of the arch, thoracic and thoraco-abdominal aorta pathology.

Clinical experience
Performing up to 10000 open and endovascular procedures (3807 procedures performed as first surgeon) for elective and emergent treatment of different arterial and venous disease with the focus on:
- Arch, descending thoracic, thoraco-abdominal and abdominal degenerative aneurysms and dissections treated with regular and fenestrated and branched stent-grafts or open procedures
- Carotid stenosis and aneurysms treated with open and endovascular techniques
- Critical limb ischemia and aneurysms treated with open, endovascular or hybrid procedures
- Chronic venous insufficiency treated with several nonsurgical and surgical treatment options
Regularly performing duplex and colour-flow scanning and preoperative invasive digital subtraction angiography for cerebrovascular, lower extremity arterial and venous, aortic as well as visceral disease

Author / co-authors of 138 peer-reviewed articles (h-index 22, citation: 1783). Co-editor of 2 books and author / co-authors of 115 abstracts presented during national and international meetings.
