Major Fields of Interest:

  • Emotional processing in adaptive and maladaptive personality. Study of emotional processes, such as emotional regulation and dysregulation, emotional recognition, empathy and emotional responding, considering different methodologies and emotional systems: physiology, behaviour and subjective responses.
  • Borderline Personality Disorder: emotional dysregulation, psychophysiological correlates and visual processing. Study of the three components of emotional dysregulation in BPD (hypersensitivity, hyperreactivity and slow return to emotional baseline) using different stimuli and contents and considering different response systems: subjective response, physiological reactivity and visual provessing.
  • Borderline Personality disorder: study of interpersonal functioning and processes. Development of new tools and experiments for the study of interpersonal functioning in affective disorders.
  • Borderline Personality Disorder: executive functions, attention and cognitive processes. Study of decision-making, social problem solving, selective and sustained attention in Borderline Personality pathology and in relation to BPD traits (e.g., emotional dysregulation)
  • Polyvagal Theory and Borderline Personality Disorder. Study of vagal alteration in response to emotional and interpersonal dysfunctions in psychopatological disorders, with a specific focus on BPD.
