Biography

Dr Stefania Guida is a Medical Doctor, Board-certified Dermatologist, PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at UNISR and a Doctor at the Unit of Clinical Dermatology HSR, having Prof. Rongioletti as a chairman.

Dr Guida has an expertise on the most advanced diagnostic techniques employed in Dermatology, among which dermoscopy, viderodermatoscopy (the so called “mole mapping”) and confocal laser microscopy, after spending almost 10 years at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, a referral center for these techniques. She published on some of the most important journals in Dermatology the findings of her research focused on risk factors for skin cancers (above all on the role of polymorphisms of MC1R - melanocortin-1 receptor -, the main gene involved in pigmentary traits in Human) as well as criteria for early diagnosis of skin cancers. Additionally, Dr Guida contributed to innovations in the field of photoaging and she supported from the scientific point of view the role of Dermatologists in Cosmetology, thanks to her international network.
