Biografia

Dopo la laurea conseguita presso la Scuola di Farmacia dell'Università degli studi di Napoli "Federico II" ed un dottorato di ricerca in Neurofarmacologia presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sperimentale dell’Università della Campania “Vanvitelli”, Napoli, il Dott. Danilo De Gregorio ha lavorato per circa 7 anni presso il Dipartimento di Psichiatria della McGill University, Montreal (QC), Canada. Dal 2021 è tornato in Italia ricoprendo il ruolo di Ricercatore in Farmacologia presso l’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele e di Project Leader dell’Unità di Neuropsicofarmacologia dell’Ospedale San raffaele.  Combinando tecniche comportamentali ed elettrofisiologiche all'avanguardia in modelli animali, il Dott. De Gregorio ha contribuito alla comprensione della psicofarmacologia degli allucinogeni e dei cannabinoidi e del loro ruolo nei disturbi psichiatrici. I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su importanti riviste scientifiche (tra cui Nature, PNAS, Nature Communications) ed ha ricevuto numerosi premi internazionali, tra cui borse di studio e fondi di ricerca  finanziati dal Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), dal  Fonds pour la recherche en Santé du Québec e dal Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca. A partire dal 1 Marzo 2024 Danilo De Gregorio ricopre il ruolo di Professore Associato in Farmacologia presso l’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
