Biografia

Laureato in Ingegneria Biomedica presso il Politecnico di Milano nel 2009, consegue il Dottorato di Ricerca in Bioingegneria presso lo stesso ateneo nel 2013 con una tesi riguardante le dinamiche non lineari della trasmissione sinaptica e del potenziamento a lungo termine. Dal 2010 al 2012 è esercitatore presso il Corso di Laurea in Ingegneria Biomedica, Facoltà di Ingegneria dei Sistemi, Politecnico di Milano. Dal 2013 al 2016 è Assegnista di Ricerca dell’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele presso l’Unità di Neurobiologia dell’Apprendimento, Istituto Scientifico San Raffaele, dove si occupa di elettrofisiologia in vitro e in vivo applicata allo studio della trasmissione sinaptica e delle sue modifiche su corteccia prefrontale, ippocampo e sistema visivo. Dal 2013 è Professore a Contratto di Fisiologia presso la Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Laurea Magistrale in Medicina e Chirurgia ed International MD). Dal 2016 è Ricercatore a tempo determinato (BIO-09) presso la Facoltà di Psicologia dello stesso ateneo e coordinatore del corso Neurobiologia dell’Apprendimento e della Memoria, Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Psicologia.

Basi neurofisiologiche della trasmissione sinaptica e della plasticità.

Sviluppo di nuove tecniche di misura dell’attività sinaptica in vivo.

Effetti sinaptici di farmaci antidepressivi sperimentali ad azione rapida.

After graduating in Biomedical Engineering (MSc) at Politecnico di Milano in 2009, he obtained his PhD in Bioengineering at the same institution in 2013, with a thesis on the non-linear dynamics of synaptic transmission and long-term potentiation. From 2010 to 2012 he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the faculty of Systems Engineering, Politecnico di Milano (Degree in Biomedical Engineering). In the following years he started working as a Post-doc Research Fellow (University Vita-Salute San Raffaele) in the Neurobiology of Learning Unit, Division of Neuroscience, San Raffaele Scientific Institute, where he applied in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology techniques to study synaptic transmission and its modifications on prefrontal cortex, hippocampus and visual system. From 2013 he is Contract Professor of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Master Degree in Medicine and Surgery and International MD), from 2016 he is Assistant Professor (BIO-09) at the Faculty of Psychology of the same University and coordinator of the course Neurobiology of Learning and Memory (Master Degree in Psychology).

Neurophysiological bases of synaptic transmission and plasticity.

Development of novel methods for the measurement of synaptic activity in vivo.

Synaptic effects of experimental fast-acting antidepressants.
