Biography

Vincenzo Costa is Full Professor at the Philosophy Faculty of the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele. He teaches Phenomenology (undergraduate course), and Phenomenology of Experience (graduate course).

He obtained a degree in Philosophy with honours at the Department of Philosophy in the University of Milan in 1989. He gained a Specialization scholarship abroad at Husserl-Archive in Leuven (1991-1992) and a Ph.D. in History of Philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan (1992-1996).

He was Researcher in History of Philosophy for the Catholic University of Milan (Piacenza, 2001), taught History of Philosophy for the Catholic University of Milan (Piacenza, 2001-2006) and Theoretical Philosophy for the Catholic University of Milan (Piacenza, 2002-2005).

He was Associate Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Molise (2005-2014) and Full Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Molise (2014-2020).

He has written many articles and reviews in Italian, French, German and English that have appeared in journals and edited books. He has published twenty books, edited and co-edited many others. His latest authored work is Psicologia fenomenologica (Els, Brescia 2018).

He works in the field of Phenomenology. His main research interest lies in the field of Phenomenology of experience, Existential phenomenology, Phenomenology of psychiatry. Other research interests include Philosophy of Consumption and Theory of elites.
