Biography
Dr. Antonino Giordano is a neurologist and researcher at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
After specializing in Neurology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, he obtained an international PhD in Molecular Medicine from the same university. During his training, Dr. Giordano also conducted research abroad at the Neuroimmunology Unit of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr. Giordano's clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system at the Neurology Unit directed by Prof. Massimo Filippi. He conducts his research at the Laboratory of Human Genetics of Neurological Disorders at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Dr. Federica Esposito, and focuses on identifying the mechanisms responsible for Multiple Sclerosis and its clinical manifestations, with particular attention to genetic and epigenetic factors and the potential discovery of new therapeutic alternatives to limit the accumulation of disability.
Dr. Giordano has participated in international research groups in the field of multiple sclerosis, particularly the FindingMS project (ERA-Net Cofund Joint Transnational Calls ERA PerMed) and the MultipleMS Consortium (EU-Horizon 2020 Grant #733161).
