Giacomo Petrarca is Assistant Professor in Theoretical Philosophy . He obtained his PhD at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele of Milan with a thesis on the problem of the Law in Paul and Franz Rosenzweig. He was a visiting scholar at Bucerius Institute for Research of Contemporary German History and Society (University of Haifa – March 2016) and he was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Jewish History and Biblical Studies (University of Haifa – November 2017). He is a member of the “Internationale Rosenzweig Gesellschaft”, of the Italian Society of Theoretical Philosophy (SIFT) and of the “Société Francophone de philosophie de la religion”. His research topics are political theology (in particular the problem of Law), Jewish thought (Spinoza, Cohen, Rosenzweig) and the relations between philosophy and Jewish thought.
