Biography

Dr. Paolo Preziosa is currently Assistant Professor of Neurology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Researcher at the Neuroimaging Research Unit, Division of Neuroscience, and Neurologist at the Neurology Unit and Multiple Sclerosis Center of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

He received his medical degree in 2010 at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, then he performed his residency in Neurology (from 2011 till 2016) and his PhD in Neuroscience and Experimental Neurology (from 2016 till 2019) at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

He has been also a visiting research fellow at the Department of Anatomy and Neurosciences at VU University Medical Center (VUmc), Amsterdam, The Netherlands, directed by Professor Jeroen Geurts from May 2017 to July 2018.

His research activity is focused on the application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases in order to improve diagnostic criteria, to better define their pathophysiological substrates, the mechanisms leading to progressive accumulation of irreversible physical disability and cognitive impairment in such disorders and to monitor treatment responses.

He is Author of 98 peer-review articles on indexed journals and of 9 book chapters.

His H-index (Scopus) is 23.
