RESEARCH INTERESTS
The research activity of Prof. Rancoita regards the development and the application of statistical methods in biostatistics and bioinformatics, such as:
- statistical methods for the analysis of survival data (e.g. frailty models) and for the identification of prognostic indices,
- statistical methods for the analysis of longitudinal data or clustered data,
- statistical methods for the treatment of missing data in clinical datasets,
- statistical methods for the analysis and the integration of genomic data (e.g. Bayesian regression methods for the estimation of copy number profiles and for the integration of copy number and genotyping data),
- stochastic geometry and, in particular, the statistics of fibre processes (with applications to the analysis of images of angiogenic processes).
