Biography

Born in Lovere (BG) on 30/01/1988.

2017: PhD in Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology and Experimental Medicine at the University of Brescia (Faculty of Medicine).

2012: Honors Degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Brescia (Faculty of Medicine).

2010: Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnologies (Faculty of Medicine).

Curriculum
From 2017 to 2023 postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Neuropsychopharmacology (Division of Neuroscience) Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan, studying cellular dysfunctions and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and pathogenesis in mouse models of Juvenile Parkinsonism (ARJP) to identify new targets for neuroprotective approaches.

In 2018 she was a visiting scientist at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Ferrara.

Since March 2023, she holds the position of assistant professor of Pharmacology (SSD/BIO-14) at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

Research Areas

Cellular dysfunctions and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration to identify new molecular targets for pharmacological strategies aimed at neuroprotection. In particular, the research activity aims at understanding synaptic alterations, molecular mechanisms of neurotransmission and their imbalances in neurological diseases. Specifically, her studies aim at studying the role of glutamatergic receptors in Autosomal Recessive Juvenile Parkinsonism (ARJP) caused by mutations in the PARK2 gene, and at validating the kainate receptor as a new potential target in the neuroprotective therapy of ARJP.

Teaching Experiences

2023-present: Assistant Professor in Pharmacology (SSD/BIO-14), Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

2020-2022: Lecturer in Pharmacology (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery, Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology Research in Medicine, Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery, at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Faculty of Medicine).
