A little profile

  • Prof. Franco Rongioletti is dermatologist, venereologist and anatomo-pathologist. He was first assistant in training at the Dermatological Clinic of Strasbourg in the years 1984-85. Subsequently he was Assistant Professor at the Dermatological Clinic of the University of Genoa up to the role of Associate Professor at the University of Genoa where he remained until 2015. Since 2016 he has been Full Professor and Director of the Dermatological Clinic of the University of Cagliari and Director of the School of Specialization in Dermatology of the University of Cagliari. He is Adjunct Professor at the Department of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery at the Miller University of Miami in Florida where he conducted research on inflammatory and degenerative diseases and on malignant skin tumors. He was "visiting professor" for research projects in various Dermatology and Dermatopathology Centers in the USA such as the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He has published in all the most prestigious international scientific journals of Dermatology and Medicine such as JAAD, Br J Dermatology, JEADV, Lancet. As of February 2021, his works have received more than 5500 citations with an H-index of 37 on Scopus.
