Clincal profile

Prof. Rosati has extensive experience in open and minimally invasive surgery of the digestive tract, especially in the field of foregut and large bowel diseases; multidisciplinary approach consisting in application of chemo and chemoradioterapy protocols in neoadjuvant setting is strongly enforced. He has given lectures and performed live surgical procedures at many international meetings worldwide. He leads one of the most recognized “High Volume Center” for esophageal surgery in Italy. He has also a thorough experience in hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and endocrine surgery, with treatment available both with open and laparoscopic approach. Bariatric surgery and day surgery are routinely offered in the department he chairs. He is actively involved in clinical practice, research and development of new minimally invasive surgical procedures and instrumentation. Hospital division headed by Prof. Rosati treats approximately 2.000 surgical cases per year. He has over 300 experimental and clinical publications. He organizes and coordinates yearly a lot of specialist training courses in minimally invasive surgery of the digestive tract.

He founded and directed the CURE (University Center for Research and Care of Esophagogastric Diseases), University of Milan School of Medicine, 2009-2014.

He is director of residency program of General Surgery and full professor in General Surgery, Vita e Salute University School of Medicine, Milan.
