Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital collaborate synergistically within a single campus, where the hospital's clinical departments, laboratories and spaces dedicated to higher education interact on a daily basis. The collaboration between the two institutions, controlled and regulated by a convention, guarantees a mutual enrichment and produces an internationally recognized research of excellence. This is why the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital are the only Italian members of the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA), which brings together the nine best universities and research hospitals at European level.
Thanks to the integration between laboratory activities and clinical research, and the presence of cutting-edge technological platforms, San Raffaele is a leader in many areas of biomedical research: from neuroscience to oncology, from genetics to immunology and infectious diseases, up to cell and gene therapies. The scientific activity is organized in Divisions, Institutes and Research Centers and it is supported by dedicated structures, which bring knowledge and instrumentation in fields such as imaging, genetics or bioinformatics.
