Research interests:
The path of research activity of Dr. Lanzani started from the study of arterial hypertension as a polygenic disease and then developed in several areas:
• physiology of the development of hypertension and kidney disease.
• genetic basis of development of high blood pressure and its complications.
• genetic and clinic of salt sensitivity (acute salt load test and low-sodium diet)
• Pharmacogenomics of arterial hypertension

From 2010 onwards, her research activity has also included the translation of results obtained from studies on hypertension in the field of clinical nephrology.

Finally, in recent years, her activity expanded by turning to population studies on adolescents and the elderly to identify the complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors in the development of high blood pressure and kidney damage. These projects also promote the dissemination of health and food education messages to the population.

In the recent SARS-CoV2 pandemic, Dr. Lanzani coordinated the NefroCOVID project at the San Raffaele.

She contributed to the creation and now actively coordinates the recruitment and biobank activity of patients with renal diseases and populations suitable for study of renal parameters (DNA, serum, plasma and urine) of over 5000 patients and controls:
