The main objective of the EFSD Mentorship Program is to identify and promote the training of the next generation of clinical diabetology leaders in Europe. Each winner will work alongside a well-known European mentor, with whom he will develop a research project to be carried out at the membership center as part of a three-year course aimed at refining his skills in three key areas of diabetes: clinical, research and communication.
Dr. Conte states:
"Receiving this recognition is an honor and a unique opportunity, because it will give me the opportunity to increase my autonomy as a researcher and clinical diabetologist working with prof. Michael Roden, director of the Institute for Clinical Diabetology - Deutsches Diabetes-Zentrum (DDZ) in Düsseldorf and an authority in the study of metabolism. I consider it a moral duty, towards the EFSD and the University to which I belong, to do my utmost to make the most of this opportunity".
