QS Subject Ranking 2021

The QS Subject Ranking 2021 (data collection February 2020) has recently been published. It is one of the most significant and recognized rankings in the world and San Raffaele University is once again confirmed in an excellent position.

In the 'broad area' subject Life Sciences, San Raffaele university gains 14 positions, going from position 342 to position 328 and therefore resulting 12th out of 21 Italian universities in this ranking.

As for the specific subject Medicine, also this year confirms the 7th position in Italy out of 29 universities.

Considering only the Citations per Faculty indicator in the subject Medicine, it is 1st in Italy and 39th in the world out of 650 universities.

The methodology of QS Ranking

The QS Subject Ranking is built on a research that includes the opinions of professors, academics and researchers, as well as managers and human resources directors. It also includes the analysis of scientific publications and citations.

The ranking is based on indicators that measure the reputation of the universities, the teacher-student ratio, the scientific productivity and the level of internationalization. Elements for which our University has always represented an important example at both national and international level.

This is the weight of the indicators that shapes the ranking by subject Life Sciences and Medicine:

  • Academic Reputation 40%,
  • Employer Reputation 10%,
  • Citations per Faculty 25%
  • H-Index 25%

Virtuous elements of San Raffaele University

Virtuous elements of our University are certainly the mission that always sees us engaged in the Medical field supported by Psychology and Philosophy, in a Campus where teaching and researching find fertile ground to grow constantly and where the student is at the very center of every initiative undertaken.

Our Campus is in fact inserted in a context where it is possible to collaborate closely with San Raffaele, a hospital and research center recognized at a European and international level.
