Maria A. Rocca è Professore Associato in Neurologia e Direttrice dell’Unità di Neuroimaging della Sostanza Bianca del SNC dell’IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. La sua attività di ricerca è sempre stata incentrata sull’applicazione della RM per migliorare la diagnosi ed il trattamento dei pazienti con patologie della Sostanza Bianca del SNC, con un interesse principale per la sclerosi multipla. Si è inoltre dedicata allo sviluppo e implementazione di tecniche di RM strutturale e funzionale per migliorare la comprensione del funzionamento del SNC in soggetti sani e del progredire della disabilità in pazienti con diverse patologie, principalmente sclerosi multipla, vasculiti ed emicrania.

A questa intensissima attività di ricerca, Maria A. Rocca ha sempre affiancato un’importante attività clinica, con coinvolgimento anche in numerose sperimentazioni cliniche.
