IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele (OSR) and University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (UniSR), represented by Dr. Anna Flavia d'Amelio Einaudi, OSR Director of Research and UniSR CEO, and by Prof. Gianvito Martino, OSR Scientific Director and UniSR Pro-Rector for Research and Third Mission, jointly assumed the presidency of the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA), at the Stockholm Members' Assembly, last June.

From November 11th to 14th, EUHA President Dr. D’Amelio Einaudi will host a series of initiatives at San Raffaele that will end with the Presidency handover ceremony. Four full days of events are featured, including working group meetings and an international symposium.

EUHA Symposium and Members' Assembly

University hospitals in Europe play a unique role in the healthcare system by providing state-of-the-art care, conducting cutting-edge research and offering excellence in education, while facing similar challenges. EUHA facilitates the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of excellence and innovation. The members’ assembly will be hosted this November at San Raffaele campus, where several events are scheduled.

The programme opens on November 11th with working group meetings, dedicated to discussions on specific topics of common interest, in the spirit of exchange and cooperation that is typical of EUHA's work, and continues on the 12th with the annual meeting of the European project JOIN4ATMP.

On November 13th, San Raffaele Hospital and UniSR will host the symposium entitled ‘European academia at the forefront of Advanced Therapies Medicinal Products development’ organized jointly with the EUHA.

The EUHA Members' Assembly will conclude the series of events, on November 14th, including the handover ceremony of the presidency to the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, which will continue the task of overseeing EUHA's health and policy agenda for the next 6 months.

EUHA: European University Hospital Alliance

IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele and Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele are among the founding members of EUHA, a European alliance established in 2017 with the aim of fostering connections and knowledge exchange among leading European university hospitals. The eleven members of the Alleanza are Aarhus Universitetshospital, Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, UZ Leuven, King's Health Partners, San Raffaele Hospital - Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Erasmus MC, Universitätsklinikum AKH Wien, Medizinische Universität Wien, Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, AP-HP, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris, Helsinki University Hospital.

By building and maintaining valuable synergies, EUHA members collaborate to develop sustainable healthcare ecosystems across Europe, advancing the Alliance’s mission of promoting excellence and innovation in healthcare, research, education, and strengthening the fundamental role of university hospitals in healthcare systems.

Several projects have emerged from this cooperation, aimed at learning from each other and harnessing common capabilities to help shape the health care of the future in Europe: JOIN4ATMP, H20, EU-PEARL, HTA, PIPPI and EUCARE, the latter aimed at fostering the exchange of essential personnel and knowledge among critical care nurses.
