The PRIN Programme
The MUR (Ministry of University and Research) has the task of promoting and developing Italian scientific and technological research activity, in connection with other central and regional state administrations, which have similar competences in the matter. The objective is to encourage those involved in research to have the ability to produce new knowledge and create new products and production processes with high added value of knowledge.
To achieve this goal, the PRIN programme (Research Projects of Significant National Interest) is intended to finance public research projects, in order to promote the national research system, to strengthen interactions between universities and online research bodies with the objectives outlined by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and encourage Italian participation in initiatives relating to the European Union's Framework Program for research and innovation. To this end, the PRIN 2022 call finances two-year projects which, due to their complexity and nature, require the collaboration of several professors/researchers, of research units and of different universities, within the three macro-sectors Life Sciences (LS), Social Sciences and Humanities (SH) and Physical Sciences and Engineering (PE).
