October 3–19, 2025

From October 3 to 19, the XXIII edition of BergamoScienza returns, Italy’s first science outreach festival organized by Fondazione BergamoScienza. In the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025), this edition will explore the theme IN-FORMATION. From quanta to life.
Information is what structures reality and makes it comprehensible: from the genetic code to digital infrastructures, from the laws of physics to the languages of culture, from artificial intelligence systems to biological ones.

UniSR at BergamoScienza

UniSR will be present at the Festival with Pathways – Choose your future and change the world, a new board game developed in collaboration with Tambù to guide students in their university orientation in an innovative and engaging way.
Tile after tile, quizzes and scenarios stimulate collaboration, curiosity, and the ability to imagine your path, showing that every choice can open new opportunities.
A game that invites you to reflect, dream, and plan for tomorrow, because choosing your future also means leaving a mark.

Discover your path and change the world: you can find us at the Intesa Sanpaolo – Ex Sacerdote location, Via Francesco Crispi 2, Bergamo.

As every year, the festival gathers internationally renowned scientists, scholars, and science communicators, renewing an unmissable event for science enthusiasts of all ages. Among UniSR’s guests at the Festival will be Prof. Gianvito Martino, neuroscientist and Pro-Rector for Research and Third Mission at UniSR, who together with Prof. Giorgio Vallortigara, Professor of Neuroscience at the Centre for Mind-Brain Sciences at the University of Trento, will reflect on what thought really is—from the brain of bees to humans and artificial intelligence—looking toward the future of our coexistence with machines and animals.

Francesco Salvi, a brilliant young data scientist about to begin his PhD at Stanford, will share his recent discovery on the persuasive abilities of AI chatbots and will discuss with Prof. Carlo Martini, Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at UniSR, the implications this could have on the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories.

BergamoScienza for Schools

At the heart of BergamoScienza’s mission of science outreach are young people and schools.
This year, 95 laboratories will be offered by schools: multidisciplinary workshops ranging from astrophysics to biology, chemistry to physics, mathematics to logic. And also computer science, medicine, environment, art, and neuroscience.

Also confirmed is the traditional event Scuola in Piazza (School in the Square), the traveling science fair that will enliven the Sentierone on October 4 and 5.

UniSR will be present with two booths:

  • “Guidance and Recruitment”, dedicated to presenting UniSR’s wide range of educational programs (with a special contribution from the staff of the Bergamo campus of the Degree Course in Nursing – Policlinico San Pietro of Istituti Ospedalieri Bergamaschi).
  • “Stem cells against diabetes”, a stand dedicated to the research of the Diabetes Research Institute: visitors will be able to observe under the microscope how pluripotent stem cells are guided to become pancreatic beta cells, paving the way for new regenerative medicine therapies for type 1 diabetes.
