15 February 2022
The University

This year UniSR advances by 4 positions in the THE ranking of the best young universities in the world, ranking 26th among 790 universities. An excellent result for our University, which also ranks second in Italy after the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa.

Positive signs also regarding the citations, an indicator in which our University got a score of 98.6 and for which it is overall in 17th place.

UniSR is a young reality, which thanks to the virtuous integration of teaching with research in its various and main expressions (basic, philosophical and social research) in an international and dynamic context, it is already recognized as a scientific as well as educational excellence at a national and international level. This excellence is demonstrated by the great results obtained in the THE ranking this year, as well as in other important rankings such as QS and CWUR.

The methodology

The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger.

Among the five parameters considered in defining the ranking, training, research (through the number and relevance of publications and the relative number of citations), knowledge transfer and international openness were assessed in particular. These elements are perfectly in line with the mission of our University and make UniSR an important example at both national and international level.
