S-RACE al centro dell’evento UniSR & D³4Health: AI e dati clinici

S-RACE, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University’s AI platform built with Microsoft, took center stage at two days dedicated to artificial intelligence in medicine. Researchers, clinicians, and representatives from the technology, industry and healthcare sectors gathered in Milan on 8 and 9 June for UniSR & D³ 4Health Foundation | Powering Real World Evidence from Data to Bedside, an event for which UniSR served as scientific coordinator with the support of the D³ 4Health Foundation. The two days combined plenary sessions and hands-on workshops on healthcare data management and analysis, and on the clinical and research applications of artificial intelligence.

S-RACE is an artificial intelligence platform built to turn real-world data into high-quality predictive models. By integrating and harmonizing heterogeneous clinical data, S-RACE supports the development of digital models for predicting disease prognosis and guiding therapeutic decisions.

The platform illustrates how artificial intelligence can accelerate the shift toward increasingly personalized medicine. S-RACE currently supports 22 research projects addressing some of the central challenges in contemporary medicine, from oncology to neuroscience and from cardiovascular disease to diabetes and neurocritical care. Several of these projects were presented during the event.

The plenary sessions and a round table on the path «from data to the patient’s bedside» examined the main challenges accompanying this transformation: the quality of source data, the integration of new technologies into clinical workflows, the physician’s central role in final decisions, and the need to ensure ethics, safety, transparency and compliance with European regulations.

Built on a secure cloud infrastructure and grounded in regulatory compliance and Responsible AI principles, S-RACE reflects this approach, showing how technological innovation, clinical research and data governance can converge to make a concrete difference for patient health.
