Erasmus+ Policy Statement:

The mobility project of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University was born and has been renewed every year, from the analysis of the training needs of the University and its staff,  and is a priority with regards to the strateguy policies aimed at the improvement of teaching and training activities and Internationalization.

The context in which the program was born is certainly different from the present. The University was founded in 1996; while finding immediately its place as part of the training and education offer of the newborn University, the program begins to grow in quantitative terms by the activation of the LLP. The innovative potential of the new project and the media coverage that accompanied the launch, helped to develop greater interest and awareness of the program among students, faculty and administrative staff so that it became a part of the institutional plan of international development.

The mobility project has had an increasing impact over the years on the quality of teaching and learning. Despite a mobility rate equal to approximately 2% of the total enrolled students, the level of quality of experience – guaranteed by the commitment of the University in supporting and promoting it through the identification of qualified staff appointed to the oversight and the organization of the mobility flows – it is certainly the additional value.

The staff involved ensures the necessary support in preparation, implementation and recognition of the activities carried out during the period of mobility as well as the dissemination of information on the  Programme; it is involved not only in program management but also in a more large internationalization process that identifies the raising of networks of excellence and joint projects of mobility which contribute to increase the national and international attractiveness of the Institute.

Participation in the Program Erasmus+ has in fact exercised an unquestionably positive impact on our university in terms of:

  1.  internationalization of the university profile, through the processes of recruitment and partnerships with other institutions;
  2.  internationalization of the students' curriculum;
  3. extension and expansion of  training and education programs;
  4. development of an  international network in the field of education;
  5. commitment to implement an institutional strategy aimed to the increase of training offer on the basis of equal opportunity, according non-discriminatory attitude and deep appreciation of differences (ethnic, religious, etc.) with a view to the development of an international and motivating learning environment.

The University – thanks to assistance provided by the relevant offices – has also always supported and promoted the staff mobility according to an enrichment of the educational and administrative know-how essential for the implementation and development of partnerships between universities of the European Community area.

The support and promotion of student mobility in both outgoing and incoming mobility (Study and Traineeship), thanks to the cooperation of the qualified Office the Degree Courses Faculty Staff, the website and the students INTRANET pages, is accomplished by providing students with information and support to the organization, implementation and recognition of activities carried out during the period of mobility.

The increase of foreign students in the University – already partially achieved by implementing the International MD Program, the International School of Doctoral Research in Molecular Medicine and the School of Doctorate in Philosophy and Science of Mind – is constantly supported through the organization of several seminars and scientific training sessions taught in English so to promote the inclusion and integration of students in the regular activities of the University.

Since the University considers the teachers and staff mobility important for personal and cultural enrichment and essential for the implementation of relations among universities, these activities are sponsored and supported thanks to the assistance provided by the qualified offices in order to facilitate the performance.
Moreover the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has implemented and promoted agreements aimed to the achievement of double degrees especially in the field of post-graduate and Ph.D. education.
The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has always aimed to provide high quality services; for this reason the University has sought and obtained “ISO 9001:2015 certification.
