UniSR Among the World's Best
In the QS Rankings 2027, we rank 6th in the world and 1st in Europe for Research impact.

Vita-Salute San Raffaele University achieves an extraordinary result in the QS World University Rankings 2027: 6th in the world and 1st in Europe for Citations per Faculty, the indicator that measures Research impact. A confirmation of our University's scientific excellence and the foundation of the quality recognised by employers in UniSR graduates.
Two Rankings, One Consistent Message
The Citations per Faculty result is the most significant data point of the 2027 edition: it tells us that publications produced by UniSR's academic staff are cited — that is, used as a reference — by the international scientific community with a frequency high enough to place us among the six most influential universities in the world.
A message consistent with the excellence already confirmed in the THE World University Rankings, where we hold 7th place worldwide for Research Quality.
Research as the Foundation of Outstanding Teaching
*"World-leading Research is the concrete foundation of a Teaching approach that brings the most up-to-date discoveries, the most advanced methods and the most innovative tools of the international landscape into lecture halls — and laboratories.
At UniSR, this translates into a learning experience that, through scientific rigour, combines theoretical grounding with an intensive practical component. Simulation laboratories, clinical activities, professional placements, technologies and learning environments that replicate real-world scenarios: those who study with us need not look elsewhere for what the world considers state of the art; they find it here, every day, alongside direct contact with those who produce and teach that Research — transforming it from study into clinical practice and, ultimately, into the knowledge of those who leave UniSR ready to work at the highest professional level."* — Professor Enrico Gherlone, Rector of Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
Recognition in Academia and the World of Work
This is further reflected in the growth of Employment Outcomes (+85%): a signal that our degree programmes prepare students for solid careers, as recently confirmed by the AlmaLaurea Report 2026.
The improvements in Academic Reputation (+25%) and Employer Reputation (+106%) also reflect a consistent and progressive journey of recognition: UniSR's quality is increasingly visible and valued, both within the international academic community and in the world of work.
Sustainability: Concrete Actions, Growing Recognition
UniSR also records a significant improvement in the Sustainability area, with growth of over 30%.
This reflects concrete actions already under way, integrating environmental, economic and social sustainability into the University's development vision as both a daily responsibility and a strategic choice.
The quality of a university is also measured by the coherence between scientific excellence, attention to the future and impact on society.
