International Partnerships

The UniSR International MD Program gives students access to an international environment that extends beyond the degree itself, connecting study abroad experiences, specialist training opportunities and professional destinations after graduation.

Additional Projects – International experiences undertaken by IMDP students as part of their preparation for the final degree that may take place in various clinical or research settings, including hospital wards, operating theatres, outpatient clinics, laboratories, or other healthcare facilities selected in agreement with their thesis supervisors. The project location and activities are defined to ensure alignment with the student’s research objectives, educational goals, and degree requirements. Students may access international medical or research electives through the AAMC-VSLO program or identify suitable destinations through personal contacts or recommendations from their academic network.

Residency training abroad – The resident may complete training periods at qualified hospitals, both in Italy and abroad, for up to a maximum of 18 months during their program of study and in accordance with their Individual Training Plan.
These experiences represent a fundamental opportunity for professional growth: exposure to diverse and international organizational contexts allows residents to broaden their scientific and operational skills, acquire cutting-edge methodologies, and develop a comprehensive and dynamic perspective on the profession.

Alumni career destinations – UniSR’s Alumni Community brings together more than 14,000 graduates living and working across 35 countries. Their professional pathways span clinical practice, academic and scientific research, healthcare institutions, industry and international organisations, reflecting the range of opportunities that may develop from a shared educational experience at UniSR. The destinations highlighted on the map illustrate how the international dimension of the IMDP continues beyond graduation.
Although Alumni pursue different professional and personal trajectories, they remain part of a global community connected by their time at UniSR and by opportunities for dialogue, exchange and collaboration with the University and with one another.
