The IMDP curriculum

Our students have the opportunity to receive an education inspired by acclaimed international models. Our curriculum integrate innovative and educational approaches that will cultivate progressive specialization with the increasing complexity of skills and competencies as they progress through their studies.

It  promotes a critical mindset in translating research, understanding behavioural sciences and managing health-related processes. Through this multidisciplinary approach in the first year of study, students are able to join three elective courses:

Moreover, starting from year 2, Medical school students can shape their learning experience and direct themselves towards a specialized career path. With selective tracks available, they can make an informed decision on what best suits their passions and professional aspirations:

  • Medicine and Surgery (maximum 20 students/year)
  • Translational Research (maximum 20 students/year)
  • Global Health (maximum 20 students/year)
  • General, personalized by the student by selecting among the different courses available (open to everyone)

At the end of year 6, all students will be awarded the degree title of Medical Doctor, regardless of the chosen track.

During studies, students will also undergo mandatory licensing rotations. These curricular activities allow IMDP graduates to be immediately granted a license to work as doctors in Italy.

Moreover, the program has a unique block; during the final semester, that has been structured to give the student time to devote to writing his thesis. The project can be carried out either at our institution or a foreign institution of choice, as this time is free from classes or exams.

English is the official languageforlessons, practical activities and examinations; however, a compulsory Italian language lesson will be offered to all international students to allow better interaction with patients during the clinical rotations.
