Research Themes
CRISI’s scientific identity is articulated around several cross-cutting thematic areas:
- Genealogy of ideas and conceptual transformations: Investigating the formation, circulation, and metamorphosis of concepts across different historical and cultural contexts, in dialogue with literary comparatism and the comparative philosophy of cultures.
- Philosophy and symbolic forms: Exploring the relationship between philosophical thought and language, imaginary, metaphors, narratives, institutions, and discursive practices.
- Interdisciplinary dialogues: Examining the interactions between philosophy and other domains of knowledge and creativity, such as psychoanalysis, literature, cinema, visual arts, and media.
- Concepts and modernity: Critically studying the conceptual paradigms that shape modern and contemporary thought, focusing on ideas such as subjectivity, truth, reason, time, nature, technology, and power.
Through these thematic strands, CRISI actively contributes to international academic research, partnering with kindred centers, fostering interdisciplinary projects, and promoting scholarly output through publications, conferences, and public engagement initiatives.
