Positive signs despite the pandemic

The italian university system has successfully countered the shock wave of the health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, recording a 4.4% growth in enrollments for the academic year 2020-2021, which confirms and reinforces a positive trend continued for seven years now.
The enrollment rate, calculated on the 19-year-old population, thus reached 56.8%.

Furthermore, the university choice is increasingly a female choice. In 2020, compared to a male enrollment rate of 48.5%, the female rate was 65.7%. These data, also confirmed by the trend of registrations to UniSR, show how the gender gap in the academic field is gradually narrowing.

Ranking of Italian universities Censis 2021-2022: how to orient in the italian university panorama

In this year's Censis ranking of Italian universities, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University once again wins the podium in the rankings of the graduation classes.

This important national ranking, now its twenty-first edition, not only aims to describe the situation of the Italian university system, but also represents a valid tool (together with the QS and THE international rankings) to provide guidelines for the choices of all students ready to pursue a university career.

All our Faculties on the podium

This year's edition sees Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in an excellent position in the ranking of small non-state italian universities, a wide and therefore the most competitive category.
Our University advances to the sixth position, obtaining an excellent score.

Rewarding elements are certainly represented by the offer of modern facilities, not only educational but also receptive thanks to the expansion of the University in the brand-new spaces of Milano 2 and in the historic and prestigious headquarters of Cesano Maderno, and by the growing internationalization process.

The analysis carried out by Censis evaluates all Italian universities, dividing them by homogeneous categories by dimension, based on different indicators: available structures, services provided, level of internationalization and communication skills 2.0.

The general ranking is then flanked by the three-year and two-year degree programs' rankings and single-cycle courses.

Like last year, our three Faculties confirm their position on the podium of the rankings for all the national private universities in the various sectors.

In particular, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University heads the top of the ranking of single-cycle master's degrees with its courses of Medicine and Surgery and Dentistry. At the same time, the Faculty of Philosophy excels in the literary-humanistic disciplines sector for both the three-year and master's degrees.
Significant results were also achieved by the Faculty of Psychology, which earns the second place for the master's in Psychology and Cognitive Psychology in Health Communication as well as the third place for the three-year degree course in Psychological Sciences.
