International PhD Course in Molecular Medicine
Admissions
The application to the International PhD Course in Molecular Medicine can be submitted, regardless of age or citizenship, by those holding a 5-year University Degree, a Master Degree or an equivalent foreign academic qualification, approved by the PhD Examination Committee, also according to international agreements on the recognition of qualifications for the continuation of studies.
Last year Master’s degree students can also apply to the PhD Course only if they will graduate before the date of the enrolment in the PhD Course.
A new Call for Application for the admission for the A.Y. 2022/2023 has been published.
Registration and application for the competition will open at 1:00 pm December 6th, 2022 and will close at 1:00 pm January 11th, 2023.
- First phase of the evaluation will held on January 26, 2023
- Interviews will take place on February 1, 2023

Project 2 (CMB3), Supervisor Dr Jean-Michel Cioni: “The ageing endosome: investigating the role of post-transcriptional control of gene expression in impaired endosomal function associated with ageing”
Project 3 (CMB4), Supervisor Dr Emilie Venereau: “Unraveling the role of the alarmin HMGB1 in the aging process”
Project 4 (CMB5), Supervisor Dr Marco Bacigaluppi: “Role of age-associated hematopoietic alterations in stroke-related neuroinflammation”
The above 4 projects are funded in the context of financing pursuant to DM of 15th March 2022, n. 341 (M4C2 – Inv. 1.3 - Consequences and challenges of ageing)

Project 1 (BAIO2), Supervisor Dr Alessandro Sessa: “Validation of artificial epigenetic silencers to reduce GBM in immunocompetent mouse model”
Project 2 (BAIO3), Supervisor Prof. Carlo Tacchetti “Unraveling the role of Integrated Stress Response signaling in metastatic breast cancer mitochondrial bioenergetics and heterogeneity”
Curriculum: Gene and Cell Therapy
Project 1 (GCT1), Supervisor Dr Serena Scala: “Studying human Hematopoietic Stem/Progenitor Cell trafficking in vivo”
Project 2 (GCT7), Supervisor Dr Raffaella Di Micco: “Dissecting the role of stress-triggered proliferation in hematopoietic stem cell aging” - Funded in the context of financing pursuant to DM of 15th March 2022, n. 341 (M4C2 – Inv. 1.3 - Consequences and challenges of ageing)
